Very few people need 64GB of RAM. That's what is driving the cost up on this. With a more common 16GB of RAM, this is a $1,000 computer.

This is an awful deal for those specs. Just go to MicroCenter and for the same price you'll get an i7-7700K with an 1080 graphics card and larger SSD. The only thing this system has is 64GB RAM - what's the point when you put in a crappy 1060 and don't even use a 7700K.

the worst part about this is that this "deal" already has a $600 off coupon applied. SMH

I appreciate the comments. I had been looking mostly at i7 7700k, gtx1080 computers and then found this with 64 GB ram and just completely thought that it was awesome. Not so much!

How about using this Costco system as a Virtual Machine lab? I'm not sure there would be a need to overclock the CPU and instead maintain stability within the VM environment.

The 64gigs seems like it would be perfect to accommodate multiple vm's and provide plenty of headroom for future VM lab growth.

Thoughts?

If you intend to run multiple VMs, you need to look at core and thread counts. Not just RAM and CPU speed. I'd be looking at a Xeon or Threadripper system.
