Linksys AC5400 EA9500 Refurbished Tri-Band MU-MIMO Router $190.97

WalMart has Linksys' top tri-band router on sale for under $200, while the Linksys website has the same item for ~$250. I believe the "RM" designation means it is certified refurbished so it comes with a 90 day manufacturer warranty.

Benefits of this router: 8 gigabit ports (versus 4 on most routers), MU-MIMO to maximize bandwidth over WiFi, tri-band wireless, and a 1.4GHz dual-core processor. Typically $350-400 brand new.

Free shipping, and doesn't appear to allow for in-store pickup, at least not in my area (61801)

Does anyone have a use for 8 ports? Would rather see 4-6 10gigabitE ports

Actually just bought this and was going to post it. Lowest referb price I've seen. The box did state 90 day warranty. I did not care about VPN or DDWRT. Range on 2.4GHz channel is great I get signal a block away from my house. Currently using 5 out of the 8 ports and will use the others when fixing computers. Or friends come over to LAN Party. I first tried to buy it from Jet dot com but they canceled my order. Only disappointment was 5GHz signal is weak. I hear that is to be expected when going through walls. This thing is a BEAST! Glad I pulled the trigger!

Hopefully you receive v1.1, not v1 that has faulty hardware which cannot handle MU-MIMO [smallnetbuilder.com]. I don't think very many v1 models were sold so it seems likely that you will receive v1.1

I bought one of these refurbished routers a few months ago from Linksys directly and returned it. Ran hot and always disconnected.
Bought another one (new) and never had an issue.
