Sams Link [samsclub.com]

Been looking for a better router and found this. Was a previous frontpage deal at $160 without the bonus USB adaptor.

Its their flagship. About 4x the cpu speed, and can handle at least double the wifi connections. it is not a true 3200 class though, its really a 2600 with an extra channel.

An ac68u (800mhz) will work with a 100/10 connection with qos enabled. Over clocked to 1400mhz (about 80% success rate) it will handle almost 200mbs down, and allow a 20mbs vpn connection.

The wrt3200acm will handle dam near 1gb fiber connection with qos enabled, and odds are at least a 50mbs vpn connection.

That being said, both can handle even a 1gbs connection if you are just running it as a dhcp server with no qos/adblock/openvpn, and both will get the same wifi speeds unless you have a VERY specialized client wifi card.

What i meant to say i habe an ac68u that runs good no need to reset it and the reviews for the wrt are all over the place alot of mention of drop connections. I want to get iy just for the processor alone but dont want the headache of dropped connections.

I have a Comcast ac1750 and it isn't quite enough to cover the far side of my home- even on the 2.4 band. Is this a good option?

It says MU-MIMO, so that makes this future proof for a few years yes?

Any recommendations? Thanks.

So what I gather is that there is little to no benefit now (although strongly considering a Pixel). But that does little to say what the next few years hold. The fact that two of the best Android phones had it (possibly?) in 2016 indicates that there may be wider adoption later. Appreciate the link.
