Any of the new GANZO knives. I don't like the SpeedSafe opening system on Kershaw knives for all applications. GANZO has at least one assisted open knife, which is smoother than SpeedSafe imo. I like the ball lock that most of theirs come with better. It just feels a lot safer. You can order those from Amazon (or GearBest for a bit cheaper but longer wait).

EDIT: The Firebird series / sub-brand or whatever it is, have the coolest ones imo. I ordered the F753M1 a while back by accident when I meant to order the full-size version (7531). It's around the same size as the Spoke actually and it's $10.99 as of right now. Steel is the best you can get for this price range as far as I'm aware.

Better knives can be had for the same amount of money but if you're the type that doesn't know or care about steel grades, this is a nice compact everyday knife.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of this knife. It's got a nice sharp deep belly blade but its pretty small and because of its size combined with a stiff speed-safe it wants to fly out of your hand when opened, they should have made it with a textured plastic type handle or something. I'd consider a shuffle or save your pennies for a Chive or similar.

Steering clear of the very low price Kershaw knives (reg price not much diff than sale price)...last one had serious speed safe issues...could be a fluke, but meh, not worth the hassle...

Their annual sale is December 1-3. If you live in Oregon, you can get these for $5 there.

I was going to ask the same question. Thanks for taking the time to provide real information to go along with your opinion- rather than just saying "Google it."

As you seem knowledgeable, do you have any best buys in the $40-50ish bracket?

Looking for an assisted opener close in size and weight to the petite Kershaw Leek, but with a bit of a stronger blade. Any suggestions? Wife loves the Leek design but blades too thin at the point snapped two knives already.

It is 18.91 on ebay. Where are you seeing it for $10.99?
And any recommendation of something that can be easily opened up that is bordering on an illegal switchblade ??

Gearbest's website shows $10.99 which is where I looked for a noninflated price. Amazon and eBay usually cost more since the seller is doing a mark up since they "waited for you" to get it from wherever overseas they ship from instead of you having to wait. That said, I've gotten knives in as little as a week and a half from GearBest.
