Samsung MU6290 40" is still $299 at Microcenter [microcenter.com] (says $399 but changes to $299 in cart) for those who have a Microcenter close by (it's in-store only).

A true step up would be OLED, which are still pricey. Plasma look better than most LED, to me, but mine were 1080P (which probably makes little difference unless viewing closely).

You may want to consider the P series TCL which is a step up from this if you have $600.

I dont think OLED is gonna be in my price range anytime soon. I do view closely, specially when gaming i'm only like my extended leg length away from it lol. I cant game too far away. I was watching that TCL P607 actually, hoping for some kind deal around BF. Thanks I'll prob hold off on this then.

The TCL are most bang for buck for gaming, for sure. I recently purchased the S series, both P and S are super low latency in gaming mode.

Next year I predict OLED will become more accessible in this price range. I remember paying a couple thousand for my first Plasma but now I can't justify more than a grand given how fast tech is maturing. OLED is a true step up from a basic LED. Motion on a plasma looks the best to me, though.

It has what they call HDR. But it's not HDR10. So if you want a good quality picture TV, this is not the one to get.
