Buy through Rakuten [rakuten.com] using code GIVE10 to get $10 off of $40. All items need to come from the same seller, so select a cheap filler from TRU

what a joke TRU is.. several toys are on flash sale at a price HIGHER than the every day price at walmart/target. For example, the PJ Masks Headquarter Play Set.

I was a pricing and sign coordinator at toys r us a couple years ago. The secret is they raise the everyday price maybe a week before a sale and when it goes on sale sometimes it was the price it was before it was marked up. I'm not sure if it's still like that. Just wanted to share

I'm not so sure that's a secret.

Just have to be smart about purchases and check prices in other stores first.

Excellent timing as I just got my $20 reward emailed to me a week ago or so.

Thanks for the heads up!

I'm bitter because...

Sure! They're cheap now, but why weren't they more affordable when they first came out?! Maybe if they were more affordable MSRP, then TRU and Disney wouldn't be in the situation they are in now.

Same with Skylanders... Mad

They need the fast revenue from the fake flash sales to pay their suppliers. Many of them are no longer allowing shipments unless Toysrus pays up front or within 30 days. The same thing is happening to Sears.

This is pretty basic economics: If demand decreases and supply remains unchanged, then it leads to lower equilibrium price and lower quantity.

Fortunately we now have price tracking databases and can see what the price has been every day for years for most major retailers. Still, we appreciate the info Smilie

Life lesson for ya. Next time there's something new and enticing, think about. Would I still want it even after few years? I do this for every video games now. I don't ever pre order. I just wait until they go on massive sale just before they stop making it or selling it. By then people have reviewed on these games and I know I'm gonna get tried and tested quality games and gears... for cheap on top of it.

The more you pay the more you like it....
Plus, it can't be cheap to start or they loose the psychological advantage of putting it on sale later and getting people to rush to spend $60 on something that cost them $5/unit to make/market
