Many people such as myself have sales jobs where the GPS is in use all day, as is the cell phone. It is much more convenient and efficient to have a dash mounted GPS unit so that the phone is always free to serve other functions. Why would anyone who does not need one of these be reading the forums?

Looks like it was introduced in 2014. This is a discontinued model with the Drive units being the current generation.

You obviously haven't tried texting while driving using the phone's NAV in an unknown area.

We have two of these and they are pretty awesome. Great directions and the voice control is pretty awesome, haven't used much of the phone integration though.

Why would anybody think that bluetooth, to hook up their phone thru a Nav unit, is a great deal. Now if the bluettoth would function thru the HU and mute that that would be a deal. But garmin doesn't do that.

P.S.
The model last year included life time free traffic for cheaper.
