That is too much for such monitor. Dell Ultrasharp 32" with 4K resolution is about $1K, I don't see how 8K resolution would be worth 3 times the price of a 4K monitor.

price per pixel doesn't scale linearly... It is much harder to make a 8K monitor than a 4K monitor.

If you have an application that can take advantage of 8k, it's well worth the price. Medical, photography, animation, etc...

There was a review on Ars where they used it to play games at 8k and it looked incredible. Of course, even an SLI setup using the best video cards on the market still has trouble running it smoothly.

Anyway, this is a first adopter item, but if someone was in the market, this is the best price it has been.
