You must be a Costco member to purchase and I realize that is limiting. For non-members, a very decent deal on an annual membership is available - see Slickdeals post here:

Not the best deal historically, but not a terrible price. From what I have read, the best now is the Uniden R3 for $399. I will wait until some sales or I need to upgrade though for that one.

Be advised: The 9500ix doesn't filter out K band falses (BSM, Traffic sensors, posted unmanned radar signs). Other than that, I loved it. DW uses as her daily driver.
You can disable the K band alerts via USB on your PC. This is not suggested if you drive anywhere they use it. Can't be disabled via menu on unit in the car.

Here is a map of currently used bands (I'm not responsible for the accuracy):
https://www.vortexradar.com/2015/...your-area/
For example in my local area they have not used K, but it states it is still in use in Ohio, as well as X. I've disabled K and X on my DFR7, due to falsing issues. It does better than the 9500ix, but not perfect by any means. I get BSM falses often on K in traffic.
My next one looks to be the R3 unless something better hits before I upgrade.

Remember, without laser shifters (jammers), you most likely will be alerted too late for laser to avoid a pull over if you are within their overage guidelines to do so. Laser is commonly used in my area and I am not willing to fork out thousands for that. I am not a speed demon. Just a few over if at all, but been screwed by traps in the past, so never without something to help as another tool to keep me alert. With instant on, merging LEO's, etc, your best warning system is your brain (don't overdo it) and eyes (always be vigilant).

We all lose focus now and then. YES I am talking to the "just don't speed" crowd. That would still not be as good as having a detector. Just please hide it if pulled over. LEO's will likely take it out on you, jumping to the conclusion you are a scofflaw.

Above all, drive safely!

Overpriced old tech. Get DFR7 for similar money or R3 for top of the line performance for $399
