Huawei Ascend XT phone - $19 @ Walmart Clearance - B&M YMMV!

Picked up an Huawei Ascend XT tonight in St. Petersburg, FL (33711) for $19 plus tax (they still had 2 more left). Other stores around town have it for $30 and $40 so YMMV as to the lowest price in your area. Walmart.com has it for $79.

Amazing phone for the price - 6" IPS screen, dual-sim, expandable memory, etc. Its an AT&T Prepaid phone but appears to have an unlockable bootloader.

currently have a contract with att. I can use my current sim/contract with this phone right?

never used a pre paid phone before but price is nice if I can use it on my current att plan.
You can put the sim and use it right away but I don't know about the contract part.

This phone can be unlocked for $5 via dc-unlocker. This is a true unlock as the software actually reads the unlock code from the phone itself (which is pretty impressive).

If anyone wants to try this go https://www.dc-unlocker.com/buy and make a account, deposit 4 euros = 4 credits. Download Hisuit on your pc which will download all the drivers. Plug in your phone, on your phone in the dialer type *#*#2846579#*#* and go into Background settings/USB port settings and switch it to Manufacture Mode.

Back on the computer, Download the DC-Unlocker and open it and set it to "Huawei Phones". Click auto detect and it will show your phone information. Login to your account and click "Read Unlock codes". It will display all the unlock codes for your device instantly(it reads them off your device). The NCK is the network unlock code you are looking for.

**Follow instructions here:

I have 4 of these phones. They are cheap enough that I don't get upset when my family drops their phones (which seems frequent, sigh).
Can you unlock multiple phones with the same credit? I paid $15 each somewhere last time to unlock $49 phone. Still happy.

I grabbed 2 of the Moto G4's yesterday, but after reading your post I think I'll grab 1 or 2 of these today for when my wife/mom/mother in law inevitably drop their phones. Thank you sir...repped.

After unlocking will it only work on GSM networks or will it work with Sprint CDMA?

Yes you can, just pop your sim into the phone and that's it. You're not required to have a prepaid plan to use these if you're already an AT&T customer.

Sweet 3 instock at my local Walmart in Cleveland area for $19. Gonna check after drop son off to day care this morning.
They probably pulled the XT2 as it's at Wal-Mart for $119. Did the same thing today. Ended up figuring it out and bought 3 XTs for $19 each from Wal-Mart in Virginia Beach.

Previous SD thread said this doesn't get 4G/LTE on T-Mobile. If the phone supports Band 2 and 1900, shouldn't it get LTE?
