YouTube reviewers. This has faster multithreaded performance, i7 has faster single threaded performance

There are a lot of different i7 processors. The ryzen 1600 is faster than a lot of i7's I use this site http://cpubenchmark.net to compare the benchmarks of different models.

Thanks. Just noticed i9 is out at a price near 1k. I would rather choose Ryzen 1600 processor. It's affordable.

bought this combo 6 weeks ago. similar price. running the 1600 @ 3.85 1.3v ocing, with batman boomerang rams @3000. running very stable. if you want 4+ ocing, then get the 1600x. maybe. or you can wait til black friday and save another $10. i dont think they gonna go much lower in price. or you can hunt for parts seperately. good luck with your built.

I own this combo. Bought the pieces on sale separately a couple months back for about the same price. This price is pretty good for only dealing with 1 rebate. I have mine overclocked to 3.8 on the stock cooler, Ram at 3000, and everything is running great. My build list if you're looking for other parts to go with this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NL4B2R

Well. next gen ryzens will be out soon. So I am expecting discounts more than that in BF.

I was hunting the deals recently, and has some thoughts that I would like to share for those who need a pc right now.

For a short term, i7 8700k is very good if you prefer gaming, and need some video editing or multithread oriented work. 5ghz will definitely help a lot.
If you need a long term build and would like to upgrade in a year or two, you might want to consider Ryzen, as Zen2 and Zen3 chips are guaranteed to be compatible with current motherboard. You lose some FPS in the game, but it handles everything good enough.
I'm very interested in mATX and ITX form, but this is a good b350 board. I'll place the order if I need a pc right now.
