Not TD'ing this deal, but I want to make sure others are aware that this is not practical for processing any more than a modest amount of meat. I had it in my head that I was going to process many pounds of venison with this tool, and quickly learned that it would not work for such a task, and ended up returning it.

My 2 cents.

I've read that this leaves a black residue in grounded meats, tempted to get this but not the extras in the meat

I got this last Xmas, and have used it a bunch of times with no black gunk. It's sort of a pita to clean, but it's worth it when people bite into a REAL strip loin burger.

For this price, I grabbed it. I'm worried about all the reviews regarding grease/metal shavings, but I suppose I can just return it if I need to. The next best thing would be a stand-along grinder/stuffer which are more than twice this price.

Would it be good for small batch of home made sausages? Like 20 at a time? If not what would you recommend for grinding and filling batches of sausages? 20 to 40 at a time. (Truth is i could do much bigger batches if you can recommend a good and reasonable priced prodcut?

Don't know how they sell this. Shavings are not just a quality issue but safety issue.

If all I needed it for was stuffing small batches of sausages, it probably would have worked for me. I was hoping to avoid buying a standalone grinder that would eat up storage space, but that is the route I ended up going, and it powered through the large volume of relatively tough wild game meat I needed to process.

Best Buy has a good return policy, I believe through January 14th for most items purchased after Oct 29. If you're sure you will be stuffing sausage during this time, why not give it a go?

Hope this helps!

Dad
