nah this board does not have wireless AC 3165. That would be insane and a $100 value right there. I looked at this board quite a bit when i was deciding my new build as i needed wifi. I am not sure OP where u got that info but the WI FI module on it seems to be Gigabyte branded and running at half the speed as your average onboard wifi at about 433 mbps. Kinda lame they couldn't just place an intel 8265 or killer 1535 or something

I guess i always thought the number after AC means its theoretical speed. I know thats how routers are these m/2 modules not so much
See below
I see the overview but the description says something different
Wireless Communication module
Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, supporting 2.4/5 GHz Dual-Band
BLUETOOTH 4.2, 4.1, BLE, 4.0, 3.0, 2.1+EDR
Support for 11ac wireless standard and up to 433 Mbps data rate
* Actual data rate may vary depending on environment and equipment.

So I guess the WIFI is indeed labeled as AC 3165 and it is indeed an intel but its a low end version running at max output of 433 mbps. Again too bad since intel 8265 which runs at 800+ is like 25 bucks

This is tempting as I think it's the most savings of all the boards on NewEgg right now. What's the promo code cover, only this?

Both the Gaming 7 and this board have reports of some GPUs (e.g. ZOTAC AMP! Edition GTX 1080 Ti, one of Gigabyte's GTX 1080 Ti) not fitting in the top-most PCIe slot (the one with 16 lanes) due to the "Amp-Up Audio" shield. Quite ridiculous if true.

Yeah, I was looking at these boards but I own the Gigabyte GTX 1080TI and backed off because of the reports. I can't believe that they made a board that won't fit their own GPU, esp the top of the line GPU.

Can the I/O cover be removed? Maybe not down over the audio caps, but I see a screw hole

you mean the I/O cover? yeah most likely it can but then you should not have to do that just to fit a video card.

Got lucky yesterday while traveling on business with an in store pick up at Frys in Las Vegas. Had 10 in stock, apparently for several days. Best of luck!
