Yes this is the new release version. It was released on Feb 7 this year. I picked this up couple of months ago from Fry's.

This is one of the few series I wouldn't mind they bring back for one last movie to give it proper closure. The clock is ticking though and it looks like it's never going to happen.

I'm tempted to get quantum leap, but I've heard the episodes on disc are out of sequence?

Hmm, some quick research shows that there was a new 2017 release that fixed a lot of the problems and restored most of the music. I'll have to dig a little deeper to see if this is that version.

I bought this earlier this year. The biggest issue is the leap out at the end of episodes don't always coincide with the next episode. I don't remember the music situation, but I believe most is intact. Sam even sings Imagine.

Helluva deal on FNL and QL if I didn't already own them.

The music situation was a disaster on DVD. I think most of it was restored for streaming. I think the BD carried over the music from those music rights.

As for the 'leap out' those didn't always coincide. That's not new to the blu-ray release, that dates back to the original airing. Back then the studios, not creators, determined 'air dates.' They'd shuffle around episodes, and air them in whatever order they wanted. They'd save 'better' episodes for Sweeps Week and whatnot. It didn't help that it was always a bubble show, so the studio probably shook things up quite a bit trying to get new viewers.

They really need to fix the finale episode, didn't do the series justice. Honestly this is one of the few shows that could've gone on for 10+ years and still would've been amazing. Has aged pretty well too.

These are all great releases. Quantum leap is leagues above the previous DVD release with restored music and better visuals. Knight rider look great for an 80's tv show. Miami Vice is the best we're going to get and very good. Friday Night Lights is perfect for Bluray. I just wish that Mill Creek would release the A-Team series bluray that Europe got next.

They're not perfect. Quantum Leap has little things wrong. The fact that the leap outs don't match the episodes is because that re-runs were played in the seasons of quantum leap. They matched to leap outs to what was playing next week even if it wasn't a new episode so this is how the episodes originally aired. You can find fault in some of these things, but I never thought we'd see shows like this on Bluray so I'm happy with what we have.
