Looks like Google is selling on behalf of Frys in this case and charges full sales tax for all the states. It charges a fix rate and adjusts the rate based on your shipping address after completing the shipment.

Do you know 100% for certain they actually adjust the rate after completing the shipment? If so they are trying to charge me $18.45 in taxes...but that should be more like $10.xx .... anyone know if they actually adjust the tax charge...this is BS especially since there is no brick and mortar Fry's in my state so I shouldn't get charged ANY sales tax....BS...

Yes, its 100%, ordered Nvidia Shield from VA through Frys-Google Express and they charged me 10% sales tax and it got adjusted down to 6% after it was shipped

Btw, I know, its total bs, idk why they charge me tax in VA, where clearly no b&m Frys stores exist, somebody mentioned in another thread that the way GE operates is they buy these items for you in the store for you, thus they get sales tax charged depending on where it was physically purchased

The sales tax rate will be based on the state the store is in that it's fulfilled from. Google Express is not an online store, they're a shopping service. It's the same thing as if you walked into the the store itself and bought it yourself.

The sales tax is adjusted when it ships. Also note that the credit card pending charge will reflect the whole amount, regardless of coupon. The right amount will post.

so does it mean it changed to tax to reflect your location or the location of the seller?
thank you.

not sure tbh, Mines coming from a Target store so I checked their website & Sales tax for the same item would be around $11 so not sure where this $14 is coming from. I have a Fry's (wasn't available for purchase) & Target here in Chicago.

Sales tax is calculated on the pre-coupon total;

extremely rare but Costco (in store) does the same.

Well this must be a joke. Got my delivery this morning, went to open the package and to my surprise the Apple TV 4k was already opened. It was missing the plastic, the remote had scuffs, marks and fingerprints. The charging cable was missing the plastic and stuffed inside the white container. The actual Apple TV was missing the black tape around it and last but certainly not least, what confirmed that this was a used model was the fact that there was somebody's else's account logged in. What an embarrassment will never try this service again.

yeah maybe, I have no idea how google express works so maybe the Google guy just bought a used apple tv without the plastic & didn't even care to ask why. Google Express support wont offer a replacement only a refund upon return so I can't use the promo code again or get the price adjusted so I'm sol.
