Who will cease to exist first? Jcpenny or Sears?

Looks that they raised the prices for this coupon. The 60% off clearance last week was a real deal.

First time posting. Be gentle. My B&M had 70% off lowest tag for clearance. Plus 20% off with their credit card. Or you if you had the $10 off $10 or more you could use that if you total was over $10. Sandals and Liz Claiborne belt for $6.37. Couldn't use the $10 off $10 or more.

JCPenney has had this "sale" for a few months now. That's mainly why the store has looked pretty awful from all the go-backs the next day.

I went to my local JCP today to pick up an online order and perused the sale section while there - it was an additional 70% off the sale section, but the selection was minimal and super disorganized. I'm sure some will be able to benefit, but for most I would say it's probably not worth the trip.

Does JCP allow price match for the items you had already purchased?

Obviously JCPenney will go first. Sears still has tools and other stuff which make it a better bet

That's actually a shocking subject. Jcpenny to be in the same sentence as Sears is not something I would ever have predicted.

"obvious" based on what, the tools that they don't own anymore? if anything it's all the way around and here is why: the CEO of both.

the CEO of JCPenney Marvin Ellison will loose if the company goes down. Ellison has been the CEO of JCP for a very short time and has made a lot of changes to move the company forward.

the CEO of Sears Eddie Lampert will gain if the company goes down. Lapert and his partner will own 85% of the company in an event that Sears files Chapter 11. Lapmpert has been the CEO of Sears for a very long time and he has done very little to move the company forward because of conflict of interest [usatoday.com].

Sears will fall first, JCPenny has a chance to rebound but it's unlikely. Sears and Kmart will fully shutter within two years, probably less. They just announced several more closures.

Good luck. I spent 2 hours this morning and they were doing 70% off already pink tag clearance.. Cheap for sure but if you are not a 29" or 44" waist.. Than don't bother.
