I would wait for a better unit. They have been doing the roku premiere as well as apple TV units about once every other month.

Pass on this one.

Title is wrong: this is not DIRECTV (satellite); it's DIRECTV NOW (streaming).

The premiere is no longer made in 2017 so unless they find a stash somewhere or have some on hand it's not likely to reappear. Plus that was always a bit of a Y.M.M.V. They weren't advertising the Premiere they seemed to have run out of sticks and were substituting with those IIRC <---I may not be remembering that correctly though, but I thought the Premieres were just being substituted according to what people were saying in the threads but they might not have known either....

It would have to be a Roku Stick + or an Ultra to be an upgrade from the Roku Stick now.
The Roku stick is now in the equivalent pole position that premiere was last year. 3rd product down from the top. Ultra --> Stick + --> Stick...

If someone was going to get Direct TV anyway and wanted a Roku it's not awful.
The deal for the Stick which was on sale for $39.99 is about to expire, and the $10 Vudu Credit that stacked with that offer expired on 10-31-2017 so the prices will be going back up.

I am currently testing one out... albeit not from the Direct TV offer.
