Ended up at $4.02 with 15% S&S discount for me.

Reviews seem to indicate that this is very similar to their "regular" chili powder.

All chili powders are a blend of different spices (cumin, garlic powder, oregano, and paprika) in addition to the cayenne pepper. In dark chili powder, the ratios are often changed slightly and the spices roasted longer. Definitely not more spicy...most describe it as earthy and sometimes sweeter. Not saying it's bad, just that your chili won't turn out as you intended.

Never heard of Dark Chili Powder. Is it like evil or something?

Not to be pedantic, but the coupon is 20%, not 25%. Smilie

It has a distinctly different flavor than regular chili powder. Learned that lesson the hard way and ruined dinner one night. I would not use it as a substitute unless your recipe specifically calls for it.

Thanks! Is it spicier, (hotter?), or just a different flavor like coke to pepsi?

Thank you! Think I'll stick to the regular or mixing my own.

Dark chilli powder is sweeter than the regular chilli powder so the purpose is slightly different if you're not aware of

Grind your own chili powder. Too much salt in packaged.
