This seems like a great deal right? Pretty big and less than $1k. Plus it's 4k. Anyone care to weigh in? Wait for Black Friday? It's this TV sub par in some way?

Looks like a pretty good price to me. Amazon isn't known for great tv deals these days. They have other samsung on sale.

Curve TV's are gimmicky. I have only tested them out in stores but the problem I notice is glares seem to be "stretched out" compared to regular TVs. Also people complain of the viewing angle. Those that in the center view will probably have no issues all other angles are not as great.

For us we sit right in front of the TV so viewing angle isn't an issue, plus I personally like the aesthetic of the curved screen.

That being said the review on rtings finds issues with a few things. Wondering if someone has a recommendation in similar price range for 65in or bigger, that produces a better picture?

Here's the link to the review: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/mu6500

I have both a curved and flat tv of similar specifications. They both look great to me, I do not have any qualms with the viewing experience of either. People look for reason to bash one or the other to justify what they have or are planning to get (mostly people with flat bashing curved because there are more flat options out there), but honestly picture looks great to me on both. I have the curved in my main room because I like the aesthetics of the actual tv better.

If you are sitting perpendicular to the tv I think you will have issues with both curved and flat. Curved displays some parts of the screen better and flat others, but if you are watching your tv at 170 degree angle you probably need to adjust your room set-up no matter what tv you have. It is more the type of lcd/led technology more than the curved versus flat that affects the perceived quality at extreme viewing angles.

That being said, I am not sure this deal is great enough to jump on urgently especially with black friday coming up. It is not like this is a high end model on sale for <$1000. Even random search on best buy it is $1000. I know I have seen other 65" curved deals <$1000

How does this compared to the sony 65" on fp here? Sony will be cheaper considering you dont have to pay tax and some of us have 6% ebay cash back as well.

Is this an 8 bit or 10 bit panel? I see conflicting information online.
