Brand new Sony A7Rii Mirrorless camera - US Model from Sony authorized retailer $2050

$2,050.00

Update : Looks like few of the folks are getting their offer accepted at 2050. That is $100 cheaper than the price I paid. Good luck

I bought mine from greentoe for 2150.

Here is how to replicate the deal
Search for Sony a7rii
Place an offer for 2150
You will get an email from the support saying that your offer is accepted or an counter offer.
If you don't get 2150 please reach out to me and I can give you my order number for them to match it
The new camera will ship out from an US authorized dealer with US warranty. Invoice and such will be from the dealer and not greentoe

I bought mine for 2150 and bought the 24-70 F4 OSS lens for 950

I'm currently a canon user and wanted to switch to a mirror less for size.

Hopefully this camera is good. Reviews are great.

Lenses are expensive compared to canon and Nikon.

The A7 series is great! The lenses can be expensive, but they are very good generally and there are adapters for most other lens lines.

If you're a Canon user buy the Sigma MC-11 adapter. From what I have heard it's almost as fast as first class speeds after firmware updates.

Then you can adapt your glass (assuming you use EF).

IIRC Nikon has some issues with adaptation.

forget stock lens, just buy a adapter and use old lens, much cheaper and better pix.

Does it charge tax? Who was your retailer?

This is an amazing camera. I do large format printing, and until you print a 40x60" you don't really understand the resolution and dynamic range this sensor creates.

The body is built like a top end camera, a pleasure to use. The native lenses are not cheap, but really sharp and focus is super quiet. I tried a Sigma 35mm 1.4 and returned it because the focus sounded like grinding old brakes. I will get the Zeiss 35mm 1.4, with silent focus. I also have the Zeiss 24-70mm F4 like the OP, and other than slow f4, the sharpness at all focal lengths is perfect. And that is on a 40x60" print.

The new a7rIII is the same sensor and resolution, image stabilization. Unless you need the 10 frames a second and the bigger battery, Your end result files will look identical. It has a dual SD card slot, but I have never had a card fail on my. If your not on a paid assignment, I don't see the real need for that.

The battery in the a7rII does not last that long. They give you 2, and I always recommend carrying both. That will give you 600-800 exposures. The battery is pretty small. Not much larger than a 9 volt battery, so no big deal carrying one.

I hated the Sigma MC-11 adapter. And I wanted to love it because the Sigma 35mm Art lens is a beautiful lens.

Before investing in adapters, try out the Sony native lenses, and you will change your mind on adapted lenses.

I used to be canon shooters too (Canon 6D with 2470f2.8, 70200f2.8). I have the A7, A7ii and just recently acquired A7rii. I can still use my canon lenses using sigma MC-11 adapter. Used Canon lenses would be cheaper than Sony FE Mount lenses. What I love about my A7 series: lighter. What I like about the Canon: cheaper lenses (used market).

I have switched from canon. still using my canon lenses.
Greentoe is legit. the final price is delivered, including tax, shipping, etc, always from an authorized dealer.
a7rIII was announced last week with significant functional improvement, Has a joy stick for AF selection, has improved AF, with many more contrast detect focus points, which may work better with adapted lenses, and probably will have eye AF work with all adapted lenses (not just the sigma art with the mc-11 adapter).

Claimed to have double the speed of AF, has faster fps, and has a battery which has 2.2x more juice, which was a big problem with a7rII. It also has some additional nice pro features, such a a pc synch for flash, a my menu for your favorite manu itmes, touch screen to allow focus point selection, etc. This is why the camera is on sale. For many, it will likely be worth the price premium over the a7rII. However, the raw image quality will be likely very similar, base on prelim test, even though sony has claimed improvement in DR.

As a system, the sony lenses are more expensive than their equivalent canon lenses. And QC of sony is not quite as good, nor is their service. this may change with time. The size savings are there to some extent, with slower prime lenses. the sony 24-70 2.8 g master is a fair bit more expensive, and slightly heavier than the canon counter part. the 70-200 2.8 g master also more expensive and not much difference in size. the 35 1.4 same, and not as good as the canon.

So depending on your needs look at the systems carefully. I am happy with the a7rII over all.
As for adapters, the sigma offers eye AF with sigma art lenses. Depending on which review you read, some state the Metabones IV has better over all image quality with ultrawides. The AF is otherwise according to most fairly similar between the two. I went with metabones.

Why would you want to pay more for an inferior camera? Of all the current crop of FF cameras, the 5D has the worst image quality.

Ah.... I guess you don't spend much time in photography forums. Greentoe is legit.
