Please don't down-vote, I'm just trying to spread awareness of this change. I know it's bad news.
Cricket Wireless has removed their group save discount of $100 off of 5 group-save eligible lines. The savings are now reduced to only $70 off of 5 group-save eligible lines. Mad

So previously, for 5 lines on the $40 plan, the first line would be $40, second line $30, third line $20, fourth line $10, and fifth line free. For a total of $100 per month.
From now on, for 5 lines on the $40 plan, the first line will be $40, second line $30, third line $20, fourth line $20, and fifth line $20. For a total of $130 per month.

Furthermore, they have removed their 8 GB ($50/$45) plan. The only two options you now have that are higher than their 5 GB ($40/$35) plan, are the Unlimited 2 plan ($55/$50, which maxes at 3 mbps speeds) and the Unlimited plan ($60/55).

See screenshots attached.

This new policy applies to any new customers, as well as to current customers who make any changes to any current plan.
So if you're currently on an existing 5/$100, then to maintain your existing 5/$100 (i.e. keep it grandfathered in), don't make any changes to any of your current plans.

I don't understand why you would post this in "Hot Deals" when it should be in another forum.

If I upgrade to a new phone, would that affect my grandfathered $100/5 line plan? Cricket is supposed to have good phone sale during black friday. Thanks

From MalcomLittle on Howard Forums:

These are the changes you can't make regarding grandfathered plans

Adding a line
Canceling a line
Changing rate plan
Moving a line
Re activating a line

As long as you don't make any of the changes I just listed, you get to keep your plan at the specified price.
