If you don't need z-wave PLUS, then Walmart has a great deal in clearance on the GE smart switches. These work with Alexa and smart things (and other z-wave hubs!)--you will need a hub to use them with Alexa (perhaps the new amazon hub?)

Best price around me is $15.00.

GE Smart Switch (z-wave) 12722
GE Smart Dimmer (z-wave) 12724

Brickseek shows my local walmart at $19, but they were tagged on the shelf at $15--they rang $19, but the clerk gave them to me for the marked $15.

I recently had so many incorrect stock counts for Walmart that I stopped driving a remote Walmart for clearance items.

If I remember correctly, they have a longer range and a better battery life(if it has batteries like a door or window sensor)

I doubt it
it's on sale for $19 why would anyone drive around for it.

I've seen lots of SmartThings products on clearance around the same price not sure how different SmartThings zigbee from Z-Wave too lazy to look it up
That makes these switches half price. It's worth a mild drive.

Even at $19 that is basically half off the normal price. Anyone who is into smart home devicswould be driving to get these.

The new Echo Plus is kind of one, equipped with zigbee, not z-wave though.
