In Sunday's Fry's promo email there's a "Trusted Name Brand" 65" 4K TV for $997. I had to go to Fry's so I checked it out. Turns out it's a Sony XBR-65X750D. This is a last year's model they are getting rid of.

You can see this week's promo email here:

And the product page on Fry's website:
https://www.frys.com/product/8756571

The pricing in the ad matches the prices online: Was $1499.99, In-store price $1298.

Been hoping to get this or the x850 for under $1000 and have been waiting for Black Friday.

Think its a risk to pass this up and wait or is the price about as good as it gets? I know its the same price appox as last year's BF. Fry's policy will let me take it back within 30days if I see something better or price reduce it within 30days if they or someone else goes lower right?

Get it now and take it back later if something better goes on sale.

I'm looking for a TV right now because my son somehow "accidentally" threw the remote into my LG 65uh7700 I bought back in February. The problem is I got hooked on the picture of the 65uh7700. Cheap TVs look just like cheap TVs. In the very dimly lit TV section at fry's the Sony looked good.

Costco is going to have the Samsung 55MU8000 on sale for $880 next week. I'll have to read up on reviews and see what TV I'll be buying. I really wish I could shake the couch cushions hard enough to afford an OLED.

its a solid tv. great brand but personally I would rather have this years Vizio M series which is $999 right now. I know its not a sony and a 60hz panel but if you have to have a 65 for under $1000 the wide color gamut and full array backlight on the vizio is going to trump the non wide color and edge lit sony in my opinion. but you may need a av receiver to run everything into and use arc into hdmi 1 on the vizio. it only had one hdr capable hdmi. or go get the TCL P series from best buy for 600 if you can live with a 55". I ended up getting a ks8000 earlier this year and in my opinion the most notable difference in all the new tv tech is the wide color gamut. unless you are very close to tv the 4k thing is overrated.

This TV is perfectly acceptable (120hz, basic HDR), but I'm holding out for the 850.

Last year was readily available at Best Buy for 999...was thinking it could go to 899 or less.

Since some people appear to be interested in waiting for the 850D, I picked up an open box version of the 65' 850D at BestBuy back in April for $999. The unit was in excellent condition without any damage whatsoever.

So just some advice, the open box section at BB might be worth checking out for those interested in the 65" 850D or any of these TV models from last year.

The 70" Vizio M series will be at $1299 starting Nov 19th as part of Costco BF deal.

No TC, but how is this a slick deal? Seems not very good considering competitors and price.

Am also in the same situation. My son threw a toy on my 55 curved Samsung that I got last September.
Been eyeing for a 65 Samsung from BB's BF list. Not sure whether I should go for this now and not regret later.

this is true. last year's 750 is nicer than the current 690...60hz vs 120hz...cleaner picture in my eyes
