Thanks for the post, is this a good price historically for refurb 16-35 ii? I saw Canon put the brand new one for $1299.

From what I gather, this is the lowest price for this lens, refurbished, to date.

A bit of unsolicited feedback: I have owned this lens and the Tamron 15-30 2.8. The Tamron has image stabilization and is sharper wide open (which seems to be where you use these lenses unless you are shooting landscape) .

You can get the Tamron new for not a whole lot more and it comes with a 6 Year warranty. I love mine and sold the Canon. Might be worth renting and trying both before putting down almost a grand.

Although DxO hasn't tested the 80D, between both lenses on a 7DM2, the Sigma ranks highest and the Canon ranks 3rd, so the differences aren't that much. If you don't have plans to move to full frame anytime soon, the Sigma would be your better choice.
