I7-7500U. It's a 2-core, 4 threads CPU. i7 is no longer by default 4-core like before.

That and the processor and ram. I would look for a laptop with 1080p resolution, i5-8250u processor (better than i7 7500), and 8gb ram. You will be able to find a laptop with these specs for about $500..possibly less during BF

why in 2017 close to 2018, that 1366x768 is still a thing?

Thanks for pointing out those lacking features. Screen resolution isn't extremely important, but would be nice to have 1080p especially when buying it at this price. the 6 gig of RAM was a bit of concern, but didn't check if this was upgradeable or soldered in. Don't mind paying for another stick down the road, simple install. But if I can get more for the same price or cheaper, makes more sense to.

I've been tracking and will continue to, but I'm sure BF is going to be when I pull the trigger.

Can anybody help me out by offering an opinion on the laptop linked to here? I'm looking for a system that I can keep hooked up to my new 4k TV to use basically as my media player. It'll stream 4k video and play downloaded 4k video mainly, probably will never game with it. I just want it to be fast, quiet, and portable maybe once every few months.

There are a few similar deals going on for 8th gen i5.
The office depot I posted above.

Or this $399 Lenovo https://slickdeals.net/f/10738527-8th-gen-i5-8250u-lenovo-ideapad-399-microcenter-399?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Or this $399 HP with 3 diff colors on black friday(You need Sam Club membership otherwise 10% more) https://www.samsclub.com/sams/hp-...kdeals+LLC

Not sure if these laptop can output 4k or rather 4k at high fps
Intel UHD Graphics 620 can output 4k [intel.com] but it's going depend on the HDMI port. I believe you need HDMI 2.0 to get 4k res at 60hz? [trustedreviews.com]
