This is also an excellent card for content creators who work in 2d/3d and editing. In some (but certainly not all) the vega 64 is faster even than 1080 ti. My useage is primarily editing in davinci resolve, and vega 64 is THE BEST card for that purpose period. It all depends on your usage. Haters that make blanket statements about one card being inferior to another are short sighted.

The Saphire "limited edition" card in silver is also on sale this time for $499 and is the one I picked up. https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16814202301

I just bought a xfx Vega 56 and a rog strix 1080 oc.

Vega 56 flashed with the 64 bios and running 64 clocks, it's 98-99% speed of the 1080 oc

personal firestrike scores (7600k@4.8ghz)
Vega 56 - 15500
Vega 56 w/64 bios - 16400
Vega 56 w/64 bios/clock - 17000
1080 rog strix oc - 17300

coming from a 6970 cfx setup, noise/power consumption not an issue.

Paid $400 for the Vega, $550 for the 1080. The 1080 will be going back

Only hardcore AMD fans and crypto miners would buy this. Gaming performance is less than GTX 1080 while hotter and louder, but mining is 1.5X of GTX1080***while power consumption is also 1.5X of GTX 1080.

These things are supposed to be power efficient. Why do they used 2x 8 pin power connectors?

So 1070 ti gaming performance and better than 1080 mining performance for 1070 ti MSRP?

Meh, not a miner.
