Did a little research (and just looking at the part count), and I don't think this actually includes pieces to build the tree! It is just a box that looks like a tree, with a couple of mini figs and mini builds inside. Not bad for free, but still a bummer.

Yep. The LEGO pieces are the tree topper, 2 minifigs, and 3 small models.

you are right. Its said it on the description as well.

Build a LEGO® star to place on top of the cardboard Christmas tree, then have fun playing with the 2 minifigures and 3 small holiday models.

Nice to know. I was thinking about buying it on its own last night.

Works in store too. Bought multiple lego items that totaled above $35, and system gave me two free. Wasn't on the shelf yet. I had to get an employee to check the back 😁

You are totally right...what a joke!! I'm so glad you pointed this out. It seems so weird to picture a fully built tree out of Legos if that's not even what's included.

Edited to say: It's a great deal if you are already spending $35. If you are like me and buying extra little sets to get the free item, then probably not worth it.

The third picture for this item on the target website shows the actual tree built from lego pieces, so I think you'll be able to build the tree. The piece count is 66 pieces, which also suggests that it's more than the two minifigures and little scooters.

I read the Target description as meaning the set came with enough lego pieces to build the Christmas Tree topper and then it also includes the mini-figures and the mini builds to play with the cardboard box. But if you don't want to use the Lego Christmas tree as a Christmas tree topper you can just use the set as-is.

The third Target picture would be pretty misleading if it was just the box =(

Hopefully, it includes the pieces to build the tree since I was going to buy some BF lego sets from Target

I disagree. Look at the box. It's a picture of the same box.... and if you try to count to pieces that make up the little figures and the tree topper, there's no way 66 pieces would be enough to make all that and the tree.

That's so lame. Even getting this for free would be a disappointment, though I suppose some people are into mini-figs.

If you want a little Lego tree get the $10 seasonal set on the Lego website. If you want a bigger and better tree check out the Winter Toy Shop set. Retail chain Lego promos are usually pretty pathetic.
