Dont let the name fool you, this is just a AC1900 router. Price is okay the adaptor makes it a better deal but still not that great. DFS is the only thing this really has going for it, but its a feature that probably wont be useful just like MU-MIMO for a few more years.

in case you plan on using dd-wrt with this, be warned it has problems with that firmware and you may have to use some other flavor of open source.

It doesn't anymore. Problems have been fixed for months now. Need to install a beta version, but I have had minimal issues with them.

Not sure why people pay $150 for a router. My $50 router work perfectly OK for daily use.
Thank you so much for your constructive comment. As a dedicated network infrastructure engineer, I decided not to upgrade my existing router for this one. I can't thank you enough for your professional expertise. Honestly, I don't now why anybody would upgrade any technology less than 10 years old! Well done.

I bought this last week. For the record. I haven't been able to get it to talk to my cable modem.

So I returned it. Got another one. Same story. Have spent about three hours troubleshooting, including 2 chats with their tech support.

Was going to install wrt to see if that would make it work, but I think I'm going to return it.

Just my experience for what it's worth.

I've been using this router for about 4 or 5 months now. Yes it has some issues with dd wrt but, the stock firmware seems to work fine for me. The reason I bought this router is because I wanted to install a VPN client on it. It's has faster processors then most routers twice the price. I get about 150Mb with PIA and have about 20 devices connected to it including cameras and it has been pretty reliable for me using ddwrt newest betas. I would buy it again. If you just need a basic router for a few devices and are not tech savvy. Pass.
