I currently have this setup. I have the Frys Klipsch rf82iis. And RNC 62ii on order.

Does anyone have or had both and your thoughts?

Thanks

Does this need a receiver to work? Or can we connect it directly to the TV?

I have no direct experience with these, but they seem to be well liked. That said, the Energy Take Classic 5.1 speaker set was just on sale for $162. You might have to wait a bit for them to go back on sale, but at that price the Energy's look significantly better and are widely considered to be the best entry level 5.1 speaker set you can get.

I got the monoprice , got better reviews than energy, I was ok with the looks, as long as it sounds good
I am satisfied

This, the monoprice were identical until energy took them to court.
Now they sound better but look plain Jane.. I too would choose sound over looks.
