How's this differ from the TX-NR656 deal? Worth the extra $129 ?

Currently running an STR-DN540. I need something that does HDCP2.2/HDR/Rec.2020 so I can get the full usage out of my ShieldTV. Anything under this price point that is comparable?

Test Bench results for STR-DN1080. It does not do 130 watts at 8 ohms.

i went with the 656 after seeing this. Anyone care to comment? RZ line just seems like a visual update to the 6xx line

IMHO it is not.
RZ has one more year of warranty, multi room video, multi room HDMI output and 10 more watts of power.

This is a good receiver but the 656 is a great deal for what you get.

pulled the trigger on the 656 as well. 10 more watts does not make a big difference. Also, I've read that build-in Chromecast has been enabled through a firmware update in 656. Which makes them much similar.

What is the second HDMI out on the 656 for? Just multi-room audio?

In addition to what others said, this one has more HDMI inputs and is THX certified, if that matters to you. I would get this one over 656 for a bit more.

You can output video to adjacent room. e.g. kitchen, backyard etc..
