Do this now or wait for potential Black Friday deals on 7/8. Doubt anything for X.

This might be the best BF phone deal I've seen yet, and there aren't many BF ads left to surface.$250-$300 for a pretty new-ish iPhone with a headphone jack. Maybe AT&T, Sprint and Verizon will have similar deals in their BF ads, but probably not any better.

The way I've done it before is to terminate the line it's on as soon as the phone is paid off; but I'm also a Verizon customer so I always have at least one line always running (my main one). You can pay it off after 15 days (basically, one day past Best Buy's 14 day return window). It can be done directly in your Verizon account or the MyVerizon mobile app.

If you're not a Verizon customer and/or not planning to stay with them (basically just want the unlocked phone to take elsewhere), I don't know if you can do it any earlier than 15 days and just have the entire balance dumped onto to your one/final bill (prorated service charge + activation fee + the $298 discounted cost of phone, in one shot).

Others might be better versed. Best to look back at old threads for Best Buy Verizon deals, usually Front Page one's have the most/best info.

Can any verizon customer buy this and just give it to me? Do they lose eligibility for other discounts, etc? Or does it get tied to their account with nagging error messages when we try to use with GSM carriers?

Can I use this on Verizon's prepaid plans without a bunch of hoops? I've already got an existing phone/SIM

I would rather be on Verizon prepaid. Near the end of the first month, can I move over to Verizon prepaid (and pay off the phone, of course)?

With all the millions of new iphone 8's and X's out in the wild, you would think we would see some better unlocked, No Activation Required deals, on the 6s/6s+ in the $200-300 range, and 7/7+'s in the $300-400 range. Holding out a bit longer, there coming.
