Complaining about that with these specs at a $360 OTD price point. WTF

To be able to offer models at lower price points. It's not "garbage" to everyone. Not everyone wants/needs a high res screen, so why should they pay for something that's not important to them?

My first post. I'm not sure if someone posted this already, so please be nice.

I missed out on the HP Omen deal from Walmart. I saw it the first hour of the post and couldn't believe it was already sold out by the end of the next day in my area. Oh well. Anyway, I saw this while browsing at BestBuy online so I decided to pull the trigger on one since it's a touchscreen. I hope it's a good deal, especially if you want to combine it with the $150 Best Buy eGift Card + $15 Best Buy Savings Code deal (or the $25 AX deal). I chose not to buy the GC because the return policy is through Jan 14, 2018, if I decide to return before I use it.

I don't game and use it mainly for school/work related stuff. I might use it to replace my desktop at home and attach a 27" monitor to it. Then I will have the portability to take it when I want. I hope it's a good computer. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

I can't find any mention in the specs of whether the keyboard is backlit or not, but I'd guess not. And I can't get a good look at the keyboard layout, but it appears that it might use half-height arrow keys. Those drive me nuts and I really want a backlit keyboard, but those tend to show up in models $100-$200 pricier. I'm trying to decide if they're *that* worth it (I frequently use my laptop in the dark).

Hoping for 1080p touchscreen and 128 GB SSD for $400 over the holidays.

Got a similar Dell 3 years ago on BF for $399 (4 series i5 touchscreen, 720p, 8 GB, 1 TB and backlit keyboard) and it has been good and perfectly functional for the average user . . .just looking for a decent upgrade, if I upgrade.
