What's the difference between AC3000 and AC2200? Any suggestions?

The RBK40 AC2200 (2x2) has a slower backhaul band vs the RBK50 AC3000 (4x4). Also the RBK40 misses the USB port, where the RBK50 includes them.

If you can live without the USB port, the AC2200 setup is great for most users. I'm looking to scoop one up too. Just need to find an old router to recycle to get 15% off..

If you are best buy, look at Recycle in entrance - often find people leaving old stuff.

How is Netgear AC3000 compared to Linksys Velop. I read a lot of reviews about having to reset Netgear /connectivity issues. I've Google Wifi but not getting enough speed as it doesn't have backhaul channel.

good call - luckily my parents had an old router, was able to use the 15% off the $329.99, came to $280 before tax. Speeds are awesome with this system. Previous router was the Nighthawk AC1900.

My local best buy would not honor this price.
They said it was black Friday only.

Did you try and order it online and pick it up? That will work. I picked one up recently. With a coupon, also got it down to $290.

I'll eventually trade it out for a Costco 3-pack, but not for several months, I'm sure. My area Costco's have marked down the 3-pack to $349 and $369 a couple of times in the last year, so I'll probably just wait for that instant rebate again.

It was on early Black Friday sale last week, but not this week, and then it will be on BF sale again next week.

Yes, I had known that (and spend way too much money at Costco the way it is! haha), but this was a solid price for me w/coupon, and is serving my needs just fine. I have a large sq/ft home, that had some very weak/dead spots, and have a large yard all around that needs coverage in some areas, so I will be looking at the AC3000 unit later, and by then the price may be 'normal' in the $300-$350 range, the way the 2-pack is $279.99 now with just about everyone. The AC2200 is covering everything I need though, but the speed does suffer in a couple of pockets I'd like to shore up with the better model.

The only thing I don't like about the AC2200 is the 866Mbps backhaul - nothing to sneeze at for sure, but because I do have 1Gbps Internet service. The AC3000 would give me close to or the full speed, and the extra coverage to boot with those additional two antennas.

I have been debating the last couple of days of just getting the Costco 3-pack now and returning the AC2200, but for now I'm happy.
