I've been eyeing this vac for a while and waiting for this price. However, before pulling the trigger, I read this thorough review and decided against the purchase. I'll have to keep shopping. I want the dyson, but not paying 300-500. Maybe a refurb deal is in my future.

Dyson is overpriced trash anyways. You are paying for rights to look cool and tell your poor friends how low class they are cause they can't afford one. It's like Apple in a way cept apple isn't quite as useless. It's target audience is same people tho

In for one at this price. I have owned many of this model over the years, and they are the best in their class. Having a spare battery is almost a necessity though.

Why many? Do they keep breaking?

They break. Don't Expect it to last to long. I just bought one to replace a broken one. I like having a cordless vac.

I have this vac and it is great for the price. You just need to empty the bin before you use it or it will get clogged and reduce the suction power. Battery life is pretty good also

My MIL has a Dyson V6 and it is awesome. I have a rainbow canister that was given to me by a family member and I like her Dyson better. And, I own two hoovers. They're both good for about 6 mo, then they're junk.

Whatever happened to convertible cordless stick vacuums that can be used in both handheld and stick mode with a removable or swing handle, for those relatively minor pickup jobs in-between regular cleanings with a full-size model--that don't cost a lot? Obviously, they can also be used in the car. Seems like these should be more popular given how handy they are.

I would wait on a hoover remanufactured deal which happens at least two times a year. I also read a review of this product by a review website and they said its not that great, only picked up 63% of dirt the company put on the surface area for it to pick up. Looks like a standard charge only holds about 17minutes of usage too, and this is over 7lb's making it pretty heavy for the price. This seems like it should be a $50 and under vacuum. Just my two cents.

I have three of them and they all broke . Initially, two years ago, customer service was helpful , now they have strict guidelines to be unhelpful. They do not stick by their vacum

Spot-on about Dyson. Check Consumer Reports; not that I trust them entirely, because I've had them lead me astray, but the Dysons I looked at performed worse than vacuums that were much more reasonably priced.
I bought the Hoover Lynx after having used it at a vacation home I stayed at. I love it. Only remotely bad thing about it is you have to be sure to clean the roller every so often or it loses suction. My household has a GSD and they shed year-round though so of course my vacuum gets more of a workout and YMMV. Can't say enough good things about this vacuum though. If you have hardwood, tile, and carpet (not shag!) it is the best, because you can go from surface to surface and it works great on all three.

May give it a try while trying to get a warranty replacement for our 2nd Electrolux Ergorapido. They don't last either.
