The $15 you're talking are 2700K bulbs not color changing ones.

This is not something I need but something I want. What do you guys think about this price point?

They also have the Hue hub for $50 if anyone is in the market for one.

Decent price. These bulbs are not bad, but getting a set of them for your home will be a bit pricey. I have both the Lifx and the Hue. Both are good, I would pick the one that is the cheaper for your setup.

Philips require a hub, this doesn't. Not that it matters much. Using it with Siri or Google home is pretty decent. Using it with Alexa is not that great since it doesn't respond to color change and command very well. But that is an issue with Alexa.

This is my dilemma as well. I need 0, I want 6, I would probably use 2 often.

This is about the best price in a year. I'm thinking I'll get 6, try them out and if I don't like them return the 4 to best buy I don't really need.

Do any of these have options for 100-150w equivalent bulbs?

It's a good price. I just bought 4 for 48.99/each and that was with 10% off. One thing tho, if you buy from their website you don't pay tax. So check both ways to see which one comes out cheaper. For me, it was cheaper to pay a higher unit price but no taxes vs a lower unit price with tax.

Trying to understand how this works.

So you install this on your lamp and you don't ever shut off your lamp? You just leave the lamp on and control the on and off of the light bulb with your phone?

If that's the case, then doesn't it just continually drain electricity?

You can either turn them on and off with the lamp switch like a normal bulb and it will come on with the last color you had set, or you can turn it on and off with the app while keeping the lamp always on.

I already have about 10 of these installed and love it. Just wish I had purchased at this price point.

I have two of these, one as a living room lamp so I can have voice control and another as a sunrise lamp. The sunrise feature is great - I set a time for the lamp to start turning on, and it turns on to max brightness over however long (15 minutes for me). These are better than the Philips lights since they have a lower minimum brightness, last I checked.

They pay for themselves after a few years, given the low energy costs and limited need to replace. Plus they change color via your smart phone which is AWESOME.

And, by setting triggers via IFTTT, you can get the color change easy with Alexa, though you have to specify in advance what colors you want "Alexa, trigger orange lights", etc. I love my Lifx lights (was a kickstarter backer for them way back when).

I have 4 of these bulbs and they're great. I happily paid $70-$80 each for them a few years ago, this is a great price point if I had any use at all for more I would buy more.

Seems like Hue is a much better option for the price. $15 a bulb, or $60 for 4 including Hub. Arguably more integration (wall wireless switches, etc) from what I can tell.

Why pay $40 per bulb for a less well known system?
