Described as Dark Souls with robots it's finally down to a price I'll bite at and add it to my back catalog. Price seems to be fluctuating by a few cents for the last few days I've been watching it.

No, it's much better... Basically feels like From developed it, in terms of pace, level design (closer to DS2 than 1 though), combat loop, etc.... BUT......

It suffers from a lack of enemy variety, it's rather short, and brutally hard at times... the difficulty spikes are rage inducing, and will definitely be an issue for a lot of players... even hardcore souls fans.

I know this isn't really the place to talk about this, but games like these need difficulty settings to appeal to more people. I have to admit, I bought Bloodborne and eventually just gave up on it. I loved the atmosphere and the gameplay, but I only made it to the third boss fight before giving up on it. I was spending too much time repeating the same actions only to die again. They could even call it noob mode and take away some type of benefit for lowering the difficulty to encourage people to go harder, while still making it accessible to those who just can't pour the time and effort into it.

Hey man, there is a thread for strategies for bosses so you will know how to approach them, just make sure its a thread about helping other people not bragging how they defeated a boss easy being low leveled or naked.
Dont listen to those jerks

The souls games in particular were designed to be extremely difficult and require lot's of strategy, fast reflexes, and a build up of the players actual skill to beat. I can understand how they can frustrate people such as yourself but adding in an easy difficulty would make them like most action rpg games out there.

The reward comes from the satisfaction of figuring out that boss that has been killing you through dying repeatedly and figuring out it's move set, a strategy, and improving as a player.

They fill a niche and are a throwback to games in the snes/nes era when games were really difficult.

Yeah, I totally understand the appeal to gamers that crave that challenge. I just don't see the harm in making them accessible to all types of gamers while still keeping the main focus on those seeking extreme difficulty. I was drawn to Bloodborne because of the atmosphere and action rpg gameplay. I still want to play the game, I just can't invest the time. If they made a $5.00 dlc pack that enabled "loser mode", I would buy it, just so I could finish the game. I know some other people who would probably do that same.

You make good points but the souls games are a niche. If they added in an easy mode it would upset the core player base that are used to playing the game just as is with no difficulty setting options.

You could try looking up different character builds and go with a build that can take a lot of hit's and is straightforward. I know that I beat Dark Souls 1 using a character that had very high health, strength, defense, and heavy armor and it made the game quite a bit easier.

I'm playing through DS2 SOTF as a mage and the game is significantly more difficult because most bosses are capable of killing me in two hits leaving practically no room for error. If I went with a high strength, high health, heavy armor build it would make the game much easier.

Try starting over and going with a build focused on high vitality, high strength, and using heavy armor with high defense (if possible since I've never played Bloodborne but have played DS1 and DS2).

I'm experiencing the same problem with Destiny right now. Even with the level up pack, the weapons aren't very powerful to hurt bosses. I've beaten hard games before like Doom and other with a boss and minions everywhere. I am stuck on 2 planets trying to beat a level. The difficulty level is automatically on very hard.

It's currently $19.70 for me. Looks like they're doing the repeated little price drop game with us. Hopefully it goes down a bit more.

Exactly. As someone who plat'd every souls game in the series, I would be LIVID if they made an eazy mode. It just destroys the purpose of the game.

I would be upset if they added in difficulty options as well. I think that build choice can really change the difficulty of the game as well though. There are a lot of people that want to play through as a mage and think the game will be just as easy as if they played as a knight with very heavy armor and a heavy shield.
