This is a steal of a deal, even though they seem to be robustos. $2 for top notch sticks.
Why cant anyone else besides Thompsons have these sort of deals?!?
A gentleman here got his H uppmanns from a previous deal via Thompson, he said they were moldy. Wtf man..

I picked this deal up. I'm kind of new to cigars, are there wipes to apply to my humidor box to help with the humidity? Suggestions please.

The calls are supposedly attempts to get you to join a monthly cigar club.

Yes, if your going to use this humidor, get a humidor seasoning wipe from boveda. I believe theyre 84% wipes.
Most people dont use these humidors, we use tupperwares aka tupperdors as these wood humidors tend to leak humidity (not all are like this of course).

Yeah, there are "seasoning wipes" sold at most places that have wipes for you. This is really more for break-in, not constant maintenance though. What type of humidifier do you have in the box? I use the humi-care beads (https://www.cigarsinternational.c.../1438271/) you just fill with distilled water and the balls absorb it (you don't need much), and I only have to re-fill that like once a month or so and my humidifier is kept at ~70% without any maintenance. The other thing I would suggest checking that the humidor is properly sealed (i.e. no cracks or anything that would be releasing humidity). I'd suggest a reset (take the cigars out, wipe the whole thing down with a seasoning wipe and put a humidifier in it). This will jump start your humidity.to a high level, then you can put your cigars in and just watch it for a few days, it'll drop a bit but should still hover around 65+. Another note, make sure your humidity gauge is aligned (youtube shows the salt test in a ziploc for that). If it's still dropping, get a different humidifier or try and figure out if there's a leak.

If your humidor doesnt leak air, and isnt a cheap one then I would use it. If it is cheap, make yourself a tupperdor as already mentioned. Easier to keep constant RH, cheap to make, and more often than not it can hold more sticks than cheap humidors that come as part of some package deal.

No matter what you use, if you have spanish cedar in there, you should season it 1st. If not, wood will suck humidity out of cigars and dry them out. Once it is seasoned, get boveda 65% pack(s) and throw in there with cigars. No need for beads, tanks, water refils and so on,. Boveda can also be placed on top of the cigars, which helps with space.

Good deal if they don't arrive moldy like the other poster said. I order one from the last deal but haven't been home to smoke them so I can't comment on the value, but most of those should be decent smokes.

Get an air tight tupperware and throw a damp piece of paper in there. Works better and cheaper than most humidor.

Agree with the tupperwear but a damp piece of paper is a one-way ride to mold city. Get a Boveda pack. They're a few bucks and regulates your RH for you. Plus they're rechargeable/refreshable.
