Freesync is free. There are no royalties and no licensing fees..

G-Sync requirements are stricter and requires manufacturers to use a proprietary hardware module. There is the added cost.

Lol that's going to be like 2020 at the minimum dude. They don't even have the 144hz 4K HDR monitors out yet that were announced in January. You want all of that, plus OLED, plus under a thousand dollars...it's gonna be a long time.

I'm in the same boat though.... when a monitor that meets all of those requirements is released I will upgrade my GPU and sacrifice a lamb to buy that monitor.

Actually it's not just led. It is quantum dot led that Samsung calls qled. Quantum dots are a great idea-- Samsung misleading customers not so much.

Higher refresh monitors are coming at 4K but will be 3-5x this price.60hz at 4K is the best you can get at this point

I seriously though don't get why so many of these monitors are FreeSync over gSync. Most gamers are going with Nvidia still, aren't they? Aren't gamers the guys who are gonna want to buy these kind of monitors first? So weird to make them FreeSync.

Other than the size, is this better than the $500 AOC C4008VU8 40" Curved LED Monitor, 4K, 16:9, 3840 x 2160 Res, 300 cd/m2, 5ms?
Sorry if silly question, I'm new to this. Using monitor for PC gaming as well as console gaming and wanting to watch UHD movies

Google the product page. It is TN panel.
QLED is samsung's naming trick for LED backlit.
DO NOT confuse with OLED, which is a complete different display technology. OLED panel emits light by itself and doesn't rely on backlit.
