I received a "Thank you for being a loyal Fios® TV customer." letter via email stating that they are giving me an free upgrade to Fios 75/75M Mbps Internet. Just a couple weeks ago they were trying to sell me the same upgrade for a $10 monthly fee. So heads up before you pay to upgrade your internet speed with them.

OP, were you still in a contact? What region (VHO) are you in?

No letter for me yet in VHO 7, NJ suburbs of NYC. I'm still in contact with 50/50 internet tier and have yet to see a worthwhile offer come along for faster internet. Verizon treats existing customers under contact like dog poop.

I had to call in and the rep was able to give me the free upgrade.

However I only have 6 months on my contract remaining so he only gave the discount for the remainder of the contract...

edit: I live in South NJ region

How much you paying now? They send me flyers for 50/50 for $40 a month. 75/75 for $55. Probably a bit more with hidden fee and modem charges.

You must be super lucky. Existing customers have been jumping through hoops like pretending to move and changing the name on the account to get that deal. I've never read about any current customer just getting it by calling retention. Were you in contract?

Meanwhile, "disloyal" customers get far better rates by "cancelling" things retention aren't even allowed to do, e.g. $70 for gig or $40 for 50/50. Verizon is not loyal to its customers at all.

In my area, 79 was the lowest disloyal price. But agreed, no company respects long term customers

We are paying $45 for 50/50 and did not need to threaten cancellation or talking to retention. I simply asked to drop TV and was offered the lower internet rate.

What speed are you paying for? 25/25 or 50/50?

I pay for 25/25 but have had a free upgrade to 50/50 for more than a year. No contract.

I was at 50/50 and I'm in the Mid-Atlantic region.
