I was able to see both at Costco . Each kept 3 aisles apart . Couldn't really know the difference. From external appearance , Samsung definitely wins , so sleeky thin , nice texture and almost no bezel in front. Felt Vizio showed natural Colours & Samsung was as usual showing everything extra bright
I know the Vizio is FALD and the Samsung is edge lit. Other than that, that's it. They're the same price on sale.

samsung is an edge-lit TV and vizio p series is full array back lit

this makes vizio p series better in PQ (black levels)
How does the MU8000 compare to last years KS8000?

I say this because I own both the Vizio P series and last years Samsung KS8000...and in many ways the Samsung is a better set...and clearly the P series is full array and the Samsung KS is edge lit

This would imply that this years MU8000 is a definite step down from last years KS?

KS - Super UHD (doesn't mean anything)
MU - Regular UHD

KS is far better than MU. Actually MU is a step down version from last year 8-series equivalent

Felt KS and Vizio P-series were very similar except for viewing angles

Guys the MU8000 did NOT replace the KS8000. The Q7F did.

I'd rather get the Vizio P65 but it's hard to find someone who'll carry it up to my 3rd floor walkup.

Costco does have "white glove" shipping, but it will probably end up costing me $200 to get them to take it up the stairs. Same thing about removing my current TV- that will cost me too.

I know people don't speak highly of this TV on SD compared to the KS series from last year and everybody has OLED fever, but I really liked this TV the several times I looked into it. It's been $1799-1999 for awhile now but at $1250 I think it's a great deal. I'd bite if I didn't just buy a Sony 900E from the Dell deal last week.
Did they have any deals on 900e?

I bought the 65" KS8000 last year for $1079 during Samsung's EFP so I could never justify paying more for a worse TV.

Any differences to the KS from last year? Is this years better or worse?
The MU8000 replaced the KU7000 from last year. (UHD / No quantum dot)
The QF7 replaced the KS8000 from last year. (SUHD / Quantum dot)

The QF7 and KS lines are top tier TVs. The KU and MU lines are mid tier.

The KS8000 is currently available at Joesav for $1272 if you use the code JOES1.

Not sure if I should buy the KS8000 or wait till thanksgiving to buy MU8000 for a cheaper price.
Whats your recommendation?

Stop trolling. You post in every single TV thread, you know the answers to your own questions. You are just tying to stir up crap.
