I know this item has been cheaper in the past but I jumped the gun and got it this time around because it was the only good deal I could find for a laser printer at this time. I price matched it with BB in case I don't like it I can easily return it. Hope this is helpful for anyone out there. By clicking on the link below you can see the specs on the printer. The only negative thing I have read so far is that it doesn't have automatic duplicating (printing on both sides) but eh for the price I can manage to do it myself.

I got this for $125 just before summer. It is a great printer. I have bought cheap replacement toners on Amazon and they work great. This price is a tad high but the super slick deals on this are seldom and quick selling.

The word you were looking for is duplex printing.

Also can anyone who has this printer tell me if you are able to print only black if the color toners are empty? Or will it say you have to replace the color ones even if you only want to print black.

Waiting for 125 or 129. At this price, it's not a deal...

i don't have this, but i have the dell c1760NW, (just a color laser no doc scanner). If you set the configuration to non-dell toner, then you can keep printing. It stops using the chip to track how much cartridge life is left. The chips seem too conservative, I turned it off when I got a warning on the cyan color and couple hundred pages later its still printing blue.
Go figure.

i had a cp2025dn color laserjet and it had a "low supply override" that you had to enable if you wanted the printer to continue printing even after it thought the toner was low. i would hope and assume this printer has the same feature

Are Dell's like this one bad for using generic cartridges?

Yeah, I saw it was cheaper then but I needed a printer now, just looking out for those who can't wait 😊. Anyone who has this printer, about how many pages do you get on the cartridges? Want to know real world feedback as opposed to what the company says! TIA

honestly i'd say you get about half to 2/3rds of the listed capacity. They list 5% coverage, which is like double line 14 point spacing with wide margins. I would say a normal print is between 15 and 20%, but the cartridges last longer than advertised if you turn the chip off.
Generics I find aren't quite as dark as OEM, but they're 1/4 the price and its laser so it doesn't smudge and works for my purposes. It can print color photographs, but obviously not the same quality as an actual photo printer
