so it is a temp + open close + accelerometer sensor.
you can use it to monitor doors and windows.
you can use it to monitor a safe
you can use it as a remote thermostat
you can use it to tell if a garage door is open by tilt (this is a built in option)

i mostly use mine for doors... so my doors are obviously on open close, but my sliding glass is also on motion if i leave it cracked at night.

i've put them in the back of drawers to see when they were opened.
i put one in a box in my garage to alert me if that box ever moved
i've put one in a pool in a food saver bag to get pool temp remotely... that barely works.

anyway, they are useful and fun to have. i currently get a text if my garage door is open for more than 30 minutes and i get a text if a certain door that doesn't close right is open for more than 3.

Well one thing I use mine for is in the pantry when I open the door it turns on that light and off when I close it. And obviously to get notified of doors opening and closing, when you are not home.

Garage doors for these 2 plus one. It's good to know if doors are open or closed.

What are some cool uses for this? I've bought several smartthings and Hue items these last few days. Can't think of what to use this for though.

Are those as difficult to pair as people say?

Yes, and they don't stay paired. Ask me how I know...
