What's your reasoning there? From most the research I've been doing, it seems outside of cost, Oculus just doesn't compare. About the only thing I see is it's a little more comfortable and has built in (but not great) headphones. I haven't checked in on the Rift vs Vive in a few months, so curious if something g has changed.

What has changed was the introduction of the rift controllers. The option to add sensors to create the room scale experiences as vive. And From friends that bought into both systems and online they say the controller for the rift dramatically improves the experience.

Isn't the rift playspace smaller? This article [pcworld.com] says Rift playspace is only 5x5 with the two included sensors or up to 8x8 with a third $60 sensor while Vive is up to 15x15.

My room is 15x15, but I also have furniture in the room. 8x8 is around the limit of what is clear of obstruction.

Agreed.

I didn't have any luck with a price match at Amazon. I ended up buying it online at Gamestop this morning.

I saved some additional money using Raise.com and bought a couple giftcards (found them for 7% off as of this morning) and I bought the giftcards and the Vive setup activating 2% cash back from swagbucks for Raise and Gamestop. Overall, factoring in the $50 GS gift card, saved $128 off the purchase price.

Took me a little while to order it though, their servers must have been overloaded, they kept failing repeatedly while I tried to check out, eventually it went through.

Also, FYI you can use multiple giftcards at Gamestop, so if you follow my lead get as close to the total cost as you can.
