Mine lasted just past the warranty period then developed streaks of dead pixels. Luckily I had credit card protection but I'd avoid this TV. Picture quality was not great to begin with.

Only thing in the specs that stands out is that it's 60Hz. People say the sound sucks. A lot of reviews mention dead pixels or dark spots after a year. Could buy extended warranty but do I want to deal with the hassle of getting it replaced?

It is under consideration.

These are Sony panels, right? I remember reading that somewhere and the IR codes are all Sony codes too if I recall.

Had a Sceptre few years back. Lasted for 1.5 years and then it died. May be good for a short term use. If you are planning to have some warrany, may be. Not for long term usage.
And picture quality is subpar when compared to Samsung.

I've had a 50" 1080p Sceptre for about 4 years now and have had no problems with it nor any complaints for what I paid. I also have a Sceptre monitor that lasted me years and years of heavy use with no problems until I simply upgraded.

Just wanted to throw my experience with the brand out there.

I have had this tv for a year with no problems. Pic quality is not going to blow you away and it sounds like its underwater but its $350 for a 4k tv. I am impressed with the picture but I wasn't expecting it to look like my ips or an oled.

I've had a sceptre for 6 years and it runs just fine. Great brand.

I probably wouldn't trust this one, but I still have a nice 32" 3D Sceptre TV for 6 or 7 years now.

Great for spare room, man cave, bedroom. Yes the sound sucks on them but other than that no issues. Just hook to a stereo receiver or sound bar. I would not recommend for the "main" TV. Dont be afraid to buy one though.
