This might sound like conspiracy theory but actually US intelligence agencies have been looking at Kaspersky suspiciously since a year or so

Since I heard the name Kaspersky years back and found out they were Russia based, I was like, ummmm, why are we buying this?

Went with Norton since switching from Kaspersky, the 10-license premium edition has pretty good Norton Family feature

yet no concrete proof or confirmation from independent agencies - and of course you folks are sure they have no blackhats or "contractors" embedded in the other AV companies right?

I'd beware of Kasperky. This app will open Thousands of network connections from your PC to Moscow and no one at Kaspesy cares to explain why the app is doing this.
While I haven't seen any unusual bandwidth usage by Kaspseky I'm still suspect of 3,000 - 5,000 open network connection as NO other application does this.

BTW I verified this my self using the monitoring tools on my router. I would see 3,000 - 5,000 open connection from an idle computer running Kaspseky. Disable Kaspseky on that computer and the number of open connections dropped to 4. I have since moved to Bitdefender for now.
