Not a bad TV, but not great either. Here is the ratings review.
http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/mu6300

Note that review is for the MU6300 series. Idk the difference between 6300 and 6290. On the KU series the difference was the inclusion of Bluetooth on the 6300 devices.

Idk about true HDR, but I know for certain that it's only a 60hz refresh rate.

Don't know for sure what Samsung means by HDR Pro. LG used to use it for HDR10.
But here is the total spec sheet from the Samsung website.

I think it's safe to assume if a TV doesn't brag about that feature anywhere, then they probably lack it.

So is MR120 the refresh rate. I'm new to tv tech acronyms.

So TV makers use terms like motion rate to describe a process their tv makes to reduce blur of images. "The Clear Motion Rate (CMR) is a made-up number invented by Samsung to qualify how a TV can reduce the appearance of motion blur."
Real refresh rates are generally half the motion rate number.
Samsung: Clear Motion Rate
LG: TruMotion
Sony: MotionFlow

I'm in the market for a 49" but just don't understand what the samsung/lg offer over a tcl. They all brag about some nonsense HDR. Guess I'm waiting on the $350 49" tcl to drop further at costco. Plus the roku in the tcl is a positive for me.

I think the difference is the remote between the 2 models. 6300 has a smart remote.

Agreed. The Samsung 6290/6300, TCL S403/S405, and the Hisense H8 seem to have similar specs and performance, but the Samsung costs ~$50+ more.

At this price point HDR doesn't really matter. None of these sets have a high enough brightness and either don't have local dimming, or don't have enough dimming zones to fully implement HDR.
