Been proven to not be real olive oil even though it says "extra virgin". So this is a lot to pay for vegetable oil.

No, there was a study that a lot of extra virgin olive oil, was not in fact extra virgin.
There has been no data that states it wasnt olive oil.
Please get your facts straight, and dont believe every facebook post you read.

Well, there's been reports of both such shady antics ... not sure any of these reports actually called out specific brands, so pretty hard to know one way or another.

They have made fraudulent claims in the past pushing off their olive oils as Italian olive oil when in fact they get the olives from all over the world. They now need to put a disclaimer that states where the olives are from (Like Tunesia, etc) But they put a big logo on the 1gal container stating it was packed in Italy leading people to believe that its 100% pure Italian Olive oil....
