K800 doesn't have a touch pad. But I bought one myself today from BB and it's great quality. However the USB receiver sucks and can't connect from 10 feet away. But connecting it straight to my HTPC with Bluetooth works flawlessly.

If your talking about the K400 then the build quality for the K830 feels much better. Hardly any flex to the board. I prefer the buttons on the K400 and the placement of the extra right mouse button on the left. The K400 has been stepped on, jumped on and spilled on by my toddler for 2 years and it still works great. I'd recommend for that reasoning alone.

Got one at the recently at the $50 best buy deal. I think it's a huge upgrade from the k400r. My only complaint is the battery life isn't great when using the backlight. It's a no brainer at this price

10 days of power and 3 hrs to charge. Is this worth paying twice over k400 plus?

I would say this is probably the best wireless keyboard on the market. I've tried many and none has been better than this keyboard. Just ordered 1 again, 3 in total now. this one is for backup, just in case.

This should definitely go front page!

Bought one from BB during $50 sale. Works great so far. Connected to my shield TV and use it more than the OEM remote. Haven't had to recharge it yet. No regrets ant the $50 price

Is there any other good use for this besides if you need a keyboard for a home media PC in the living room? Smart TVs will use their own remotes and I don't imagine this keyboard will be usable for smart TV, plug-in hubs like Apple TV/Chomecast

I'll stick with my k400. I don't like the fact that it's a rechargeable battery. When mine die, I stick a fresh batch and recharge the spent ones. That backlight is so nice, though.
