Not bad. LINK [newegg.com] It's a ~4 year old computer but should be snappy enough for basic stuff. 1366x768 screen.

Reviews make it sound hit or miss on condition. If you grab one hope for the best but be prepared to have to return it.

So how do I get this? It is showing up as 249 for me with no mention of when it goes on sale. Thanks.

Use MPBF17 with Masterpass to get an extra $25 off. I added a $1.50 HDMI adapter and got the laptop for $175.

After the rebate, $155 isn't too bad for the specs.

good idea. MPBF17 is $25 off $200 with Masterpass.

here's a couple free-after-rebate items one can use as a filler to get to $200.

FAR mouse [newegg.com] OOS

FAR bluetooth speaker [newegg.com] Edit: Now $0.99 AR

I also picked this up using the Masterpass coupon. If others are intersted this software seems to be 0.01 and is a download only, so no shipping charges. Brought me to exactly $200 before rebate/coupon: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr...6833999039

Hopefully this laptop is in a decent condition and meets my needs.

FYI I just saw this is a replacement only item, you can't return it for a refund. Doesn't inspire great confidence.

Return for replacement until: January 31, 2018

If the replacement also needs to be returned.... and then its replacement also... and it's after that date.... who knows?

Hmm, got mine in and its pretty rough. The body has some scuffs and scratches, the keyboard is pretty warn, and the screen is scratched. I'm not impressed. I'll probably try for a replacement...

Update: I contacted Newegg and got an RMA number. I'm going to send it in and hope for the best. Anyone else get one and care to share what the condition was?

My friend got one, finally got to check it out yesterday. It is in really good shape, had to look pretty hard to find a couple cosmetic scratches on the bottom and on the side. Screen and keyboard seem perfect. The battery is best of all, I used it for about 70 minutes and it was still at 70-75% IIRC. It looks like he lucked out. Going to add 4GB of 1.35v DDR3L RAM for $19 via eBay [ebay.com]. (It came with one 4GB module and one empty bank.)

The touchpad response was kinda annoying at first. I dug around the settings and found there is a "palm detection" slider bar which was set pretty high, I lowered it and it improved noticeably.

I noticed some of the (dual function "F") function keys don't work (F10/brightness+, F9/brightness-, F4/external monitor toggle) and probably need a driver. Not really surprising, this often happens when you reinstall windows on a laptop with the generic installer.

I will look for the driver when I install the RAM for him, will post if I find it.
