Seems odd (I'm guilty too) that you'd drop $700+ on a computer component when an entire gaming system is less than 1/2.
Not really your looking at close to half that for you cpu.. 250 300 atleast then case mother board thinking half is a low number by I guess.

It is not odd. If you want to play at over 100 frames on 2K or higher resolution, you don't have an option. Right tool for the right job kind of thing. If you are happy with 1080P then this isn't for you.

These are awful cards. Bought 6 a while ago and already 3 fans on 3 separate cards failed.

One of the worst 1080 Ti cooler designs. Thin, low quality fans, and the whole thing just feels cheap, even though it costs and arm and a leg.

Also, for those who care: no backplate.

Back plates are on the under side of the card. They don't really do much other than protect the card if you plan to move it often. They also make cards look better (opinion I guess). Linus Tech Tips did a review of backplate vs no backplate and performance wise, there wasn't any difference... not more/less heat etc... At this price though, I'd want a backplate for safety.
